Wine, Ale, and Other Drinks Role Description____________________________________
Wine makers lived on the manor or, if producing wine for the church, in the monastery. Wine was produced in warmer climates. England imported most of its wine from France. The Benedictines was a religious order with monasteries that improved and perfected the process. The growing, harvesting, and processing of wine was often handled by the wine maker.
